What is GIK Marketplace?
GIK Marketplace (gift-in-kind marketplace) is a centralized marketplace that moves in-kind goods and services from corporate suppliers to nonprofits with efficiency and transparency. We connect corporations, nonprofits, governments, and logistics providers so the right resources reach communities affected by disaster.
Does it cost anything to use?
No. GIK Marketplace is free to use for suppliers and nonprofits, and we do not solicit donations. A small community of private donors funds all operating expenses.
How do nonprofits request resources?
Nonprofits sign up, complete verification, and post the needs of the communities they serve. When a supplier's resources match a need, you will be able to review and accept the offer directly in the platform.
Who can post a need?
Currently it is restricted to members of the VOAD community. If you are not a member of VOAD but believe that you should be able to receive goods through the marketplace reach out to us and we'll evaluate on a case by case basis
Who handles logistics?
Logistics are worked out between the supplier and the receiver. GIK has partners that often donate logistics that we can reach out to, but we cannot guarantee free freight.
Do you only help during active disasters?
Our platform is built on 3 pillars: Readiness, Response, and Recovery. We are active and ready to connect suppliers and nonprofits at all times.

What does GIK stand for?
GIK is an acronym for gift-in-kind. It is the industry phrase for any non-cash donation of goods or services. Those are the donations that we facilitate. We do not solicit monetary donations or facilitate monetary giving.
Can I as an individual donate through the marketplace?
No. This marketplace is intended for large truckloads of corporate goods. There are lots of outstanding charities that could put your individual monetary support to good use.
